When you do bank transfer, you may need to type things. In this case, I was trying to transfer some amount of money to my Mt.Gox account. In the japanese banking system, they need you to type the recipient account name in half-width-katakana.
Now prior to this I just didn’t realize how complicated the Japanese encoding system is. You can read about half width kana and the surrounding confusion in Wikipedia if you’re interested in this topic.
Otherwise, you can copy paste the below text to get the right half-kana text to search for Mt. Gox’ domestic bank.
|Account name (Mt. Gox)||ｶ) ﾏｳﾝﾄｺﾞｯｸｽ|
|Branch name (suzume)||ｽｽﾞﾒ|
The rest you can choose without having to type. Japan Net bank can be selected, account number are just basic numeric input.
