People that have a bright, positive and optimistic outlook on life holds the key to happiness. It’s as simple as that.
When there’s a will, there’s way. Sometimes I meet people who stubbornly clings to the perception that their life is shit, and they do always find a way to look at their life through a shitty telescope. As a result, the outlook is, well, full of shit. Tut, tut, tut, what a pity. Like a little kid complaining that beer is bitter,
Do you think that your life is shit? The outlook is gloom and doom? Turn that dial around. Change your frequency and tune in to that brighter outlook.
When there’s a will, there’s a way. If you want to be happy, appreciate your life. If you have the will to appreciate, you will find a way to do it. When you do, you will notice your own self opening up to many different possibilities. And when you do, your life is no longer a drag – it’s more than a journey, it’s a fucking adventure!!
Why stress about it? It’s over. It’s done. We’ll have to deal with any repercussions from our past mistakes, true, but we don’t have to be so stressed out about it. It doesn’t matter any more. What you do about it today will, though. And why worry so much about the future? The future is determined by what we do today. What we do today is determined by how we feel about ourselves.
Now it doesn’t mean we should live in reckless abandon, run around naked on the street, ditch our job / duty and not be responsible with our life, I didn’t say we should forget about the future nor forget the past. I’m just saying that we shouldn’t worry too much about it. Focus on the present, that is the way to broaden the horizon and brighten the future, and appreciate your own past.
I believe that we forge our future today. We alone hold the key to our destiny. We are the lead role in our life story, and we are also the director, the producer, and the audience to this long and ____ movie. What ____ is will be up to you. What do you want it to be? Horror? Gore? Drama? Comedy? Sci-fi? (err.. not sure what sci-fi translates to but hey…)
Yes, yes, of course there’s stuff that will turn things around. There’s lost of loved ones, there’s separation, there’s bankruptcy, there’s bad people around, there’s rejection. Shit, even cops are having a hard time keeping everyone in line! But what can I say – nothing lasts forever. We know that. Friendship, parents, happiness and problems are no exception.
But can you imagine a movie with absolutely zero bad events? Can you imagine that? no one is cursed, no one is hurt, no one lose anything, no one died, no one gets into any accident. Nothing bad ever happens to anyone in the movie. A movie made of PURE GOOD. Think of it! I predict that such a movie would be an absolute bore, if it’s even possible to make such a movie. Maybe the title will be THE BORE IDENTITY, who knows.
You know what? I say that life is like a glass of beer. If you only appreciate a beer by its taste, it’s quite a shitty drink. But if you appreciate the beer drinking experience as a whole, the alcohol, the smell / aroma, the companionship of good buddies as you drink it along in some awesome pub / bar. Then beer is one of the most wonderful invention of mankind (when consumed responsibly, of course).
And it’s subjective, isn’t it ? Some people can find a million reason to NOT drink beer (anti-beer folks around? face the walls, hands on your head NOW!), and I think I can find another million individuals who will find a reason to drink it. What does it mean? It means that drinking beer, like our life, can be whatever it is that we make it to be.
The choice is, have always been, and will always be ours and ours alone to make.
And that is a very empowering idea.
